Charlotte Cziperle
My husband and I live in the Western Suburbs of Chicago with our 3 dogs.
Growing up I lived in the city, but spent my weekends and summers at our family cabin in central Wisconsin.
My appreciation for nature began in my youth and continues to influence my art today.
While attending a college prep high school, my focus of study was visual art and music (piano and cello).
I received a BSN from Loyola University of Chicago and a Certificate of Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
I have been painting since I was 14 years old. Initially, I painted in watercolor and pastel. In 2011, wanting to create a deeper depth of color and freedom in my paintings, I began working in oil using a palette knife and mixed media techniques with oil and cold wax. I have taken classes and workshops with several national/internationally known artists over the years.
I paint almost daily in my home studio or plein air in local nature preserves. I am an active community volunteer in local art organizations and have served on several local art boards. My paintings have won numerous awards, appeared in national magazines, been exhibited in galleries and several art museums, and are part of private and corporate collections.
I am an adult oil and cold wax painting instructor in the Chicago/Midwest area. I enjoy giving lectures and demos on oil painting and the cold wax process to art organizations.
Commission work on request.
